I was able to finish a couple of really little things over the weekend, and honestly I’m shocked I even got that tiny bit done!
First, the Sweet Baby Cap using maybe half a skein of Shibui Knits Sock yarn in the Grace colorway on 2.5mm needles:
You’ll notice it’s not completely finished yet. I’m waiting until mom measures baby’s head so I know it’ll fit for more than a picture shoot, then I’ll either finish it up with pretty little i-cords or I’ll rip back and make it bigger.
Next up is a modified pair of Fetching mitts from Knitty.
I added two cable repeats to each cuff and one additional cable at the knuckles. I opted to do a simple knit bind-off instead of the picot called for in the pattern… The yarn is Knit Picks Andean Silk in Cornflower, just shy of 2 balls total for both mitts.
I seem to be having some blogging trouble, so I’m going to sign off for now… Hope to be back soon with some more to show!
More lovely Christmas knits!
Nice, I love the fetchings! They look so much nicer longer like that!!
Argh, it posted before I was done, I also love the hat! I need to make one of those for June someday, so cute!
fetching looks great. funny, I was just about to cast-on to make them for a friend and wanted to make them much longer than the original pattern.
The hat looks like something right out of a Hannah Andersen catalog – only it’s hand knit, which makes it even better! My grannies had all passed on when my babes were born and they were the only knitters in the family, so I never had any of those tiny knit things.
I’m going to check out that Mitt pattern. Looks like something I could use, right about now.
PS. I cranked the heat to 70 today and must remember to turn it down before my hubby gets home and has a fit!
Love the hat – do they come in adult size? xxx
Wow! You’re really flying along with your Christmas knits! They look great! I’ve got some mitts on my list of things to do asap….
