My oldest son attended preschool at the local elementary school along with a handful of other boys (the class was all boys!) several years ago. Two of the boys are twins and live pretty nearby. Not exactly neighbors, but close enough. As things often are, I lost touch with their mom since we no longer attended the same school and the boys are one grade apart. Recently, my kids have been wanting to play with new people and make new friends. I figured it was a great time to reconnect with the mom. She also had a boy just a couple of months after I had my youngest, so the kids are all really close in age. I gave her a call and she invited us over to play in their semi-newly installed pool. Of course, I agreed and we decided to meet yesterday for some sunny pool time.
Boy, we’ve been busy this summer! I think it all stems from the fact that my not-quite-3-yr-old can do without a nap here and there, so we can plan more stuff to do/do more spontaneous things. I’m not sure what else will be in store over the next week, especially since we’re gearing up for the drive to Florida. The kids are super excited and have been ‘packing’ for well over 2 weeks now. It’s cute and aggravating all at the same time. 🙂
I put my nose to the grindstone and have completed two sides of the blanket’s attached I-cord edging. If the kids are good, I might even finish today! Cross your fingers for me!! lol
